The weekend before Thanksgiving, coordinated by the Woodberry New York Chapter, twenty Tiger volunteers gathered at Crossroads Community Services to support New Yorkers facing food insecurity. The group spent the day preparing essential items for distribution, making 350 sandwiches, assembling 500 backpack kits, and sorting multiple cartons of canned goods for the organization’s food pantry.
Volunteers described the atmosphere as lively and purposeful, with participants of all ages working side by side to meet the holiday-season demand. Special thanks to event coordinator Christian Burke ’72 for bringing people together with high energy, compassion, and a willingness to serve.
Crossroads Community Services, based in Manhattan, provides meals, pantry services, and supportive resources to individuals and families experiencing hardship. The Thanksgiving season typically brings heightened need, making volunteer efforts crucial. This is the Tiger community’s second year partnering with Crossroads.
