In January and February, Woodberry Forest School features BozArt Inspired, an exhibition of paintings, photographs, and ceramics by members of the artists’ cooperative BozArt. This group show includes works by area artists Randy Baskerville, Betty Brubach, Alie Cooper, Matalie Deane (parent of Rob Deane ’05), Judith Ely, Frank Feigert, Zainab Haider, Anne Hopper, Julia Kindred, Kathy Kuhlmann, Julia Lesnichy, Caroll Mallin, Carol Martin, Caroline Planting, Barbara Wachter, and Madeleine Watkins.
BozART Gallery opened in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 1995 to establish an arts community in which the artistic vision of its founding members could be developed and promoted. The cooperative grew through juried membership with the artists working collectively to manage the gallery and run the organization. Though the gallery closed in 2014, the artists continue to meet monthly to share resources and organize exhibitions.
