Honors Biology Students Judge Science Fair

Students in the Honors Biology classes taught by Jim Reid and Cameron Aubin went to Prospect Heights Middle School in Orange on January 21, 2015, to serve as judges for the seventh grade science fair. The twenty boys used rubrics to evaluate over 100 entries on the experimental design, quality of each component of the experiment, and appearance of the poster. The boys judged projects on a range of topics from the explosive effect of different candies to the effect of physical activity on heart rate and temperature.

"Several of the best projects will go on to compete in the Virginia Piedmont Regional Science Fair at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville," said Tammy Graves, PHMS's gifted and talented resource teacher. "The entire seventh grade worked for months to complete their projects, and we appreciate the Woodberry boys' help with evaluating them."
