Woodberry Forest School continues its gallery season with an extensive exhibition of oil-on-linen landscapes by the award-winning painter Armand Cabrera in the Baker Gallery. The artist was born in San Francisco and has spent much of his life on the west coast. For many years he was a successful production artist in the computer games and entertainment industry. Recently, however, he has moved east to Warrenton, VA where he devotes himself full-time to the challenges of painting the seasonal changes as they unfold on the Virginia landscape.

A self-taught artist, Mr. Cabrera has shown his work extensively in solo exhibitions as well as many national juried competitions. Images of his paintings and articles about his technique have appeared in International Artist, American Art Collector, Art of the West, and other well-known fine art publications. His work is well represented in notable corporate and private collections around the world. For more information, visit the website at www.armandcabrera.com or

Running concurrently, in the Lower Walker Gallery, is an exhibition of oil paintings by Charlottesville artist Werner Sensbach. Through many years of
painting and making prints, the towns and landscapes of the Piedmont region of Virginia have become the favorite subject matter of his work. Artistic influences come from the German Expressionists and the art teachers at the University of Virginia. With professional degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, Mr. Sensbach went on to
develop a career in architecture, working for many years in Europe and the United States. From 1965 to 1991, he was a professor in the School of Architecture as well as the director of planning at the University of Virginia.

There is a catered reception in the Baker Gallery and the Lower Walker Gallery at Woodberry Forest School on Thursday, April 12 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Armand Cabrera will give a talk in the Baker Gallery at 7:00 pm. The public is cordially invited to attend.
