JV Squash Defeats STAB

The JV squash team completed a sweep of its four-game series against St. Anne’s – Belfield on Tuesday, defeating their Charlottesville rival 7-2 at Woodberry. Chris Donovan paced the Tigers with a terrific five-game win, his first after a long stint on injured reserve. But the match was closer than the final score indicates, as many of the individual contests were very close. Edward Stewart pulled off the comeback of the day, erasing a 2-0 deficit to win in five games. Campbell Hallett also won in five games, winning the last one decisively, 11-4. Other wins were registered by Seung Paik, Trey Howard, co-captain Coleman Davidson, and Isaiah Brown. Seven Tigers also won eight of 12 exhibition matches on the day: Eddie Williams (twice), Henry Dickson, Seung Paik, Richard Hunt, David Sloan, Whit Hobbs, and Connor Murphy. The team resumes its schedule on Saturday with a tri-match in Alexandria against St. Andrew’s (DE) and Episcopal High School.
