    Stephen serves as Woodberry Forest's director of college counseling. He comes to Woodberry from Fountain Valley School in Colorado. Before moving to Colorado, he spent ten years as the director of College Counseling at The Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN where he also taught English. Stephen is a graduate of Sewanee, where he was an all-American tennis player. He lives in the Mercer house with his wife, Barbara and three children: Lucia and Eli, both currently in college, and Garrit, who will be a senior at Baylor School in the fall.

    Bio
     
    Greg Jacobs, the Lipe Family Master, chairs Woodberry's science department and teaches physics. He joined the faculty in 2000. He is president of the US Association for Young Physicists Tournaments, the sponsoring organization for the national physics research and debate tournament in which Woodberry participates each February. Greg is the school's broadcast coach, calling games via internet audio and developing student broadcast talent. He holds a BS from Haverford College and an MS from Northwestern University. Mr. Jacobs has published four books, authored numerous articles for the College Board and for physics textbooks, and writes the physics teaching blog Jacobs Physics. Mr. Jacobs is a table leader at the AP physics reading, in which he has participated since 1999. He lives in the Barr Duplex East with his wife, Shari, a professional potter. Their son Milo is a member of the class of 2021.

    Connor Jessop works with Woodberry’s strength and conditioning program and serves as a three-season coach. Previously, he served as a teaching assistant for students with disabilities and learning challenges in the Loudoun County Public School system. He is a recent graduate of Shepherd University, where he played football. He lives in Griffin House.

    Mike serves Woodberry at the technical director of the Bowman-Gray Auditorium and leads efforts campus-wide to support hands-on, project-oriented learning.  He was previously at Niles West High School near Chicago, where he has worked as technical director in their drama department for over twenty productions and served as auditorium manager and media technician since August 2019.  He is a 2014 graduate of Western Michigan University, where he earned a B.F.A in theater design and technical production. He lives in the Lower Infirmary apartment with his wife, Erin.

    Brad Jones serves as assistant athletic director and head athletic trainer. He earned his BS in athletic training from Lynchburg College and his MEd in athletic leadership and administration from Goucher College. Mr. Jones is a member of the National Athletic Training Association, has served on the Virginia Athletic Training Association Secondary School Athletic Training Committee and is a Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout. Mr. Jones joined the Woodberry faculty in 2013. He lives with his wife, Kristina, director of campaign operations, in the Dairyman's House with their daughter Avery, son Parker and their black lab, Chipper, who spends many hours in the Woodberry Athletic Training Room helping boys with rehab exercises.

    Kristina Jones serves as director of campaign & advancement operations in the Alumni and Development Office. She began her position in July 2019 after serving for three years in the office in other roles. Before joining the Woodberry faculty she was a member of the  Marine Corps community service program, including work with the Marine Corps Marathon. Mrs. Jones holds a bachelors degree in marketing and sports management from Lynchburg College. She and her husband, Brad, who serves as an athletic trainer at Woodberry, and their daughter and son live in the Dairyman's Cottage.

    Fred Jordan, history department chair and holder of the J. Sargeant Reynolds ’54 Chair of Government, teaches US History and honors government and politics. He joined the faculty in 1996.  He earned an undergraduate degree from Swarthmore College, an MA from SUNY Stony Brook, and a PhD from the University of Notre Dame, where he wrote his dissertation on the historic mission of six American boarding schools. In addition to his teaching duties, Dr. Jordan oversees the Senior Distinction program and advises the Woodberry Christian Fellowship. Dr. Jordan and his wife, Karen, a former member of Woodberry's history department, are the parents of Elizabeth, Ted '06, and Win '11. They live in the Stewart House.
