    Brian is a veteran English teacher. Prior to his arrival at Woodberry in 2023, he has served as English department chair and track coach at Virginia Episcopal School in Lynchburg, Virginia; before VES, he taught English and history at Charlotte Country Day School in Charlotte, NC. He holds a B.A. in English and history from Bowdoin College and and a MALS from Dartmouth. At Woodberry, Brian teaches English and lives in the new Route 15 house with his wife, Sara, and his son, Owen.

    Tyler Campbell joined the communications office as assistant director of marketing and communications in 2017.  A graduate of Ball State University, where he worked in video content production for athletic and academic programs, Mr. Campbell holds a degree in telecommunications and digital sports production. He works as the schools videographer and photographer and advises The Fir Tree yearbook and WFSPN. He also serves as the Taylor Hall dorm coordinator and helps coach varsity baseball. Mr. Campbell lives in Lower Hanes.

    Jack serves as a capital gifts officer in the alumni and development office. He has over a decade of development experience in the education field. Jack's previous experience includes work at the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Virginia, and Hampden-Sydney College. He began his career teaching in the classroom and coaching at St. Anne's Belfield. Mr. Carpenter earned a BA in history at Hampden-Sydney College where he also played football. He resides in Charlottesville, VA, with his wife Katie, and their twin boys Teddy and Jack, Jr.

    Dodie Chavez '85 joined the Woodberry faculty in 2012 and serves as associate director of development.  He earned a BA from Hampden-Sydney College and worked for more than two decades in sales, marketing, and customer service at Potomac Supply Corporation, a family-owned lumber supplier in Kinsale, Virginia. Dodie is the father of Teddy Chavez '23.

    Jeff teaches math and economics at Woodberry. He has had long and distinguished career at Mercersburg Academy, where he has taught math since 2004. At Mercersburg, Jeff served as chair of the math department, coached tennis and baseball, lived on dorm for nineteen years, and won an award for outstanding classroom teaching in 2007. He holds a B.S. in mathematics from Bucknell University and a M.S.T. in mathematics from the University of New Hampshire. He serves as dorm head of Taylor Hall.

    Drew Collier '03 teaches Spanish, coaches varsity tennis, and co-directs the Woodberry in Spain summer program.  He has a BA from Wofford College and an MA from the University of Virginia. Mr. Collier worked in Spain before coming to Woodberry in 2008. He holds the Class of 2010 Mastership and lives in the Lineberger House.

    Justin Cook teaches math. He came from St. Alban’s College, a boys’ school in Pretoria, South Africa to join the Woodberry faculty in 2022. At St. Alban’s College he served as head of the math department and head squash coach, as well as in several leadership positions in residential life. He earned a bachelor’s degree and an honors degree from the University of Pretoria. Mr. Cook lives with his wife, Elzaan, an educational psychologist, and their four children in the Moore House.

    Danielle Coon is the manager of the school store. She comes to Woodberry with over seventeen years of progressive experience with leading retailer, American Eagle Outfitters.  Achieving brand, behavioral, and performance standards, Danielle is an award-winning lead store manager with extensive experience in brick and mortar stores, online sales and visual directives.  Danielle lives in Madison with her family.

    Indira Cope, holder of the Peter B. ’24 and Adeline W. Ruffin Foundation Chair, supports students from her position in the Academic Development Center. She coaches debate and recreational golf. She has been a member of the faculty since 2000 and has taught Spanish and served as a college counselor at Woodberry. Following her graduation from Oberlin College, she went to Panama with the Peace Corps and remained there to teach science, math, and English. Ms. Cope earned a master’s of education from Framingham State College, and, as a Craigie Scholar, a master’s degree in Spanish at Middlebury College. She lives on campus with her family.
  • Kendra Crane MSN, RN

    Kendra Crane, MSN, RN serves Woodberry as the assistant director of health services. Kendra has extensive nursing experience in administration, pediatrics, geriatrics, adult health, hospice/palliative care, OR/PACU, and college level teaching. For the past fifteen years, she has worked as the district nurse manager for nine school clinics in Orange County, collaborating with directors and principals, providing clinical oversight to staff nurses, establishing policies and procedures, and providing health education and training to staff and students. Kendra was also an adjunct professor at Germanna Community College where she taught didactic, clinical, and lab courses for students in the nursing school.

    In her role as assistant director of health services at Woodberry, Kendra oversees day-to-day operations at the health center, provide supervision and training to nursing staff, and collaborate with our director of health services, athletic trainers, dean of students office, director of safety and security, and numerous off site providers at Orange Family Physicians and UVA Medical Center.
