Woodberry Participates in Regional Science Olympiad Tournament

On Saturday, February 17, Woodberry's team of fifteen students left in the early morning hours to attend the Regional Science Olympiad Tournament at Woodson High School in Fairfax. The team had stiff competition, with thirty-four high school teams present, but managed to qualify for the State Science Olympiad Tournament in April at the University of Virginia.
 
Of note were team captain William Shuford '18 along with Evan Sun '21 earning second place overall in the Optics event. Benny Cao '20 and Jimmy Kweon '21 came in sixth in the Helicopter build event and Evan Sun '21 and Tom Khoa '21 also placed sixth in an event testing their knowledge of microbes.
