Woodberry Forest is a community centered around the student experience, whether today, or a generation ago, and a deeply held belief that this experience critically shapes the entire lives of the young men in its care. Each student’s time at Woodberry is shaped, in part, by the generosity of those who came before him, and Woodberry’s tradition of philanthropy both acknowledges this support and continues to provide it.
Parent giving at Woodberry is done primarily in two ways -- through support of our Amici Fund and a commitment to the Sixth Form Parents’ and Grandparents’ Gift.
THE AMICI FUND
Woodberry’s annual fund, Amici (pronounced “am-uh-sigh”), directly supplements the school’s annual operating budget for the current year and supports a variety of uses, including student programming, faculty compensation, and financial assistance.
Parent participation in Amici is our goal, and parents of our underform (3rd through 5th form) classes engage in a friendly competition to achieve the highest level of parent participation, with a prize for the students of the winning class. Last year, 94% of underform parents participated in the Amici Fund, reflecting the great pride our parent community has for their boys and Woodberry Forest. Parent volunteers for each form, listed on this page, will be in touch to further discuss the importance of our Amici Fund and to answer any questions you may have.
OneWoodberry
OneWoodberry is an exciting, 24-hour giving event held each spring during which thousands from our Woodberry community join together to support the Amici Fund. As gifts are received and certain giving milestones are cleared, challenge gifts are unlocked, adding meaningful support to our annual effort. It is important to note that any gift made prior to OneWoodberry counts towards this effort, so if you choose to give at another time, rest assured that your generosity will be counted. If you are interested in being a challenge donor, please contact Matt Hastings at

THE SIXTH-FORM PARENTS’ AND GRANDPARENTS’ GIFT
The families of boys in their sixth-form year will be asked to support the Class of 2023 Sixth-Form Parents’ and Grandparents’ Gift this fall. Each year, a committee of sixth-form parents selects a project that is both meaningful to the class and aligned with the strategic imperatives of the school. It is intended to honor a boy’s final year at Woodberry by creating a lasting legacy for the graduating class, honoring the generosity of the classes that preceded them, and materially improving the school for the next generation of Tigers.
Each year, Woodberry sets a nationwide example for financial support, which reflects the strength of its community and their commitment to the mission of the institution. Your gift is an investment in your son, in future Tigers, and the enduring traditions and values that define Woodberry Forest. Thank you.
