International Forum Members Taste a Bit of Home

Submitted by JaeWon Yoon ’13

On a crisp Saturday evening, December 2, 2011, a group of fifteen members of Woodberry Forest School’s international forum set out for Northern Virginia to enjoy dinner at an authentic Korean restaurant.
The anticipation was heavy, particularly for the Korean students, as this was as close to authentic Korean food they would have had since the summer. Conversations were lively and the journey went by quickly.

How great it was to enjoy Korean food while in America! Driving two hours to Annandale on that chilly Saturday afternoon and devouring piles of sushi, barbecue and seafood really made all of the Korean students very satisfied. From a personal perspective, Korean food is absolutely delicious. As I waited for the Korean barbecue to cook, I could not stop myself from staring at the food. Once that single piece of meat entered my mouth, I felt as if I was in heaven. I think everything at the buffet tasted absolutely delicious after being at Woodberry for so long without enjoying Korean food. A delightful evening was had by all, and the two hours of eating made all of us very content.
