Woodberry Performing Arts Presents The Fall of the House of Usher and Exiles from the Sun in DC and NYC this Summer


Woodberry performing arts faculty, alumni, and current students are flying their colors in Washington, DC, and New York City this summer.  Theater program director Brent Cirves and Woodberry alumnus Mike Johnson '05 co-wrote a musical that will make its debut at the Washington, DC, Fringe Festival in July, and will also  be performed at the NY Fringe Festival in August. Cirves also wrote an original drama that has been selected for a full production at the NY Fringe. 

THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER, based on Poe's masterpiece, will premier at the Apothecary Theater in Washington, DC, an intimate  space in an 1840s building in the heart of the theater district at 1013 7th Street NW.  Show times are Saturday, July 11 ,at 3:00 p.m and at 10:00 p.m.; Saturday, July 18 ,at 4:30 p.m.; Wednesday, July 22, at 9:00 p.m.; and Friday, July 24 at 9:30 p.m. Brent Cirves will direct. Cast members include Harry Averett '08 and Alex Cirves '06. The technical crew includes alumni Denis Houyoux '94, Josef Ciskanik '09, Ian Cordray '08, John McAfee '03, Jordan Marchese '06, and Alex Cirves '06; Woodberry performing arts faculty members Tim Stakem and Wallace Hornady and current student Dennis Wilson are also assisting in the production.
