The winter track team competed in their second meet of the year. The team finished first in a very competitive meet. The scores were: Woodberry Forest 98, Brooke Point 87, Fauquier 62, Western Albermarle 51, and Handley 11. Of the 15 events our boys scored in 14 of them.
Finishing in First Place: The 4x400m relay team of Eli Exum, Eric Ways, Jonathan Yellets and Captain Tripp Grant. Captain Rue Hockensmith with a very impressive throw of 45’ 10 ½” to win the Shot Put. David Little in the high jump. Isaac Mirchandani in the pole vault.
Finishing in Second Place: Jack Sewell in the high jump, Joe Zweng in the pole vault, the 4x800m relay team of Stuart Huston, Wilson Kuhnel, Charlie Moore and Chris Wheelock, and the 4x200m relay team of Reid Swearingen, Jack Sewell, Hunter Faulconer, and Richard Gates, Eli Exum in the 500m.
Finishing in Third Place: Will Tucker in the high jump, Joseph Seo in the pole vault, Reid Swearingen in the 55m Hurdles, Addison Winston in the 1600m, and Eric Ways in the 500m.
Finishing in Fourth Place: Captain Buckley Davis in the shot put, Isaac Mirchandani in the long jump, Ed Bailey in the 55m hurdles, Richard Gates in the 55m dash, and Captain Matthew Laws in the 1600m,
Finishing in Fifth Place: John Moses in the shot put, Will Tucker in the triple jump, Walt Whitehead in the 55m hurdles, Hunter Faulconer in the 55m, Hagood Grantham in the 1000m.
We made some very nice improvements and we are looking forward to our next meet.
