Swimming overcomes Seton

The Woodberry swimmers had an outstanding day in the pool while defeating Seton 103-67.  Mark Peyton led Tigers by winning both the 50 free and 100 fly.  Saang Lee won the 200 free and Brewer Mathews won the 500 free for Woodberry’s other two individual events.  It was Woodberry’s depth that earned the victory by capturing many second, third and fourth places.

Many Tigers had best times today. Harry Stephens dropped time in both the 50 and 100 free events while placing second and third respectively.  Jack Joynson, fourth place, lowered his 200 free time by nearly 2 seconds.  Mitchell Moon went under 30 seconds in the 50 free for the first time today and also lowered his backstroke time by more than 4 seconds while placing fifth.  Other best times were achieved by Pearce Mayer (50 free and 100 back), John Ainsworth (50 free), Mack Keasler (50 and 100 free), Greg West (100 fly), and Daniel Hughes (500 free).  Congratulations to Gavin Forrest who had a best time in the 100 free and earned his state cut.

Seton was led by senior Kevin Koehr, winner of the 100 back and 100 free event, and by sophomore Nevin Cook, winner of the 200 individual medley and 100 breast.  Congratulations to Kevin who broke our pool record in the 100 back by more than a second and a half with a time of 51.48.
