Match Recap

Battling fatigue and unseasonably cool conditions, the Woodberry golfers posted an impressive 287–309 victory over Paul VI at home. The Tigers started slowly, shooting seven overpar (147) on the front nine, but closed out the match by firing an even par (140) on the back nine.

James Doyle was the medalist with a (-1) round of 69, featuring a three underpar 32 on the final nine. Hayes Corcell (72), James Gavin (73), and Walker Shull (73) rounded out the scoring. Just behind were Hudson Doyle (74) and Henry Cardwell (76). Playing in an exhibition match were Yates Harris (83) and Hatch Britain (87).

Woodberry improves to 5–0 on the season and extends its dual match winning streak to 45, one shy of the school record set between 1995 and 1999. The Tigers will attempt to break this mark on Tuesday with matches at St. Christopher's in Richmond and Trinity Christian in Fairfax.
