Stone Roberts ’69 Exhibits Paintings

New York artist Stone Roberts ’69 will show paintings in his first major gallery exhibition in almost a decade at Hirschl & Adler Modern in New York City, opening on March 20, 2014, and running through April 26, 2014.

Among the exhibition’s highlights is Stone’s recent masterpiece, Grand Central Terminal: An Early December Noon in the Main Concourse, which features over one hundred figures. Shown here is Lulu, near Harmony on Main: Stonington, 2007-08 Oil on linen, 36 x 41 in.

After his graduation from Woodberry Forest School, Stone earned his BA from Yale, where he studied painting with William Bailey, and his MFA from the Tyler School of Art, Philadelphia and Rome, Italy. His work can be found in numerous public and private collections throughout the United States and Europe, including the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Louis-Dreyfus Family Collection, New York.

An opening reception for the exhibition will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014, 5:30-7:30 at Hirschl & Adler Modern, Crown Building, 730 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY.
