Ben Harrow '00 Making Strides After Injury

After being severely injured in May, 2012, during his second tour in Afghanistan, Captain Benjamin Harrow is recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. After graduating from Woodberry Forest School in 2000, Ben attended West Point and rose rapidly in the Army, becoming a Green Beret and an Army Ranger. His injury resulted in the loss of both legs and serious damage to one arm.

In September, Headmaster Dennis Campbell, along with Leesa Campbell and director of alumni relations Dodie Chavez, visited Ben in Bethesda. They remarked on his obvious good spirits and the amazing rehabilitation effort that has led to his recovery of the ability to walk. "He has the same positive attitude," says Dr. Campbell, " that he displayed at Woodberry."
