Bengals Trounce EHS

The Bengals were on fire against Episcopal High School on Saturday. They won a firey victory over their arch rival by 54-14.  The Bengals were led by a trio of dynamic players Banks Hagood, Vance Spilman, and Jordan Fernandez who each scored an impressive 11 points each. They helped ignite the Bengals to an insurmountable lead they would never relinquish.  For the first time in many games the Bengals came out fighting from the opening tip off by executing a well balanced offense, a very stingy zone and man to man defense which allowed them to get a first quarter lead of 22 to 2. The team's effort, physical play, rebounding and harassing defense caused many missed shot opportunities by EHS throughout the 2nd quarter and enabled the Bengals to lead at halftime by the score of 31-4.
In the second half the reserves garnered much of the playing time and continued to execute at a high level.  Five of the other players scored at least 3 points each and were led by AJ Austin (7), David Daniel (4), and Kenneth Smith (4).  The stingy defense continued as EHS never scored more than five points in any quarter.  The game ended with the Bengals winning 54-14.  The Bengals made 5 three point shots; Banks Hagood (3) and Jordan Fernandez (2). The victory increased the Bengals season record to 5-2.
