Varsity Golf Wins Prep League Championship

The Tigers battled windy conditions on a challenging Old Trail GC, as well as a strong effort from St. Christopher's, to edge out a 295–297 victory in the 50th playing of the Virginia Prep League Golf Championship.

Hayes Corcell became the 30th Woodberry player to earn VPL medalist and Player of the Year honors by carding a (-1) of 71, sharing the title with Braden Loehr of St. Christopher's.

The Tigers had five All-Prep golfers for the first time since 2023. Joining Hayes in garnering All-Prep status were teammates Henry Cardwell (74, second time All-Prep), James Gavin (75), Walker Shull (75), and Hudson Doyle (76). James Doyle (77) also played.

Woodberry has now won 34 of the 50 golf championships. Coach Marc Hogan (24 seasons) wraps up his career with 15 titles, followed by Tom Bond (16 seasons) with 12, and Joe Donohue (10 seasons) with seven.
