Game Recap

On Saturday afternoon, the Tigers traveled to Lynchburg to take on the Bishops. The game was a back-and-forth affair in the first quarter, and VES led 20–18. In the second quarter, Woodberry tightened up their defense, and it led to many transition points. The Tigers outscored the Bishops, 29–16 in the quarter, and led 47–36 at the half. VES began to chip away at the lead in the second half and cut it to three late in the fourth quarter. Woodberry was able to get key stops and knock down free throws to seal the victory.  
 
Woodberry held VES to 33% from the field, 25% from three, and outrebounded them, 43–32. The Tigers shot 51% from the field, made 21/29 free throws, and outscored VES, 52–24 in the paint. With the win, Woodberry improves to 10–0 on the season.
