    Cronin Warmack ’89, who holds the Randall B. Terry Jr. ’53 Chair, serves as Woodberry’s director of technology. He earned a BA from Guilford College and an MA in educational technology from Michigan State University. He has been a faculty member since 1999. Mr. Warmack and his wife, Phoebe, director of the William H. White Library, live in the Ruffin House with their children, Avery ’19, Jackson ’19, Toby '25, and Sara.

    Phoebe Warmack, holder of the William H. White Jr. 1900 Mastership, is director of the William H. White, Jr. Library and Instructional Technology. She earned her undergraduate degree from Guilford College and her MLIS from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. A member of Beta Phi Mu, the international honor society in library and information studies, Mrs. Warmack returned to Woodberry in 2007 after serving as Woodberry’s information services librarian and coordinator of academic technology from 1999 to 2001. She has served on the board of directors and remains active in both the Association of Independent School Librarians and the American Association of School Librarians, and is a member of the International Boys' Schools Coalition Librarian Network. She lives in Ruffin House with her husband, Cronin, Woodberry’s director of technology. They are the parents of Avery '19, Jackson '19, Toby '25, and Sara.

    Truett teaches biology in the science department. He received a B.S. in biology from Wofford College, where he served as a teaching assistant in physiology, was president of Wofford’s chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and spent a summer studying abroad in Genoa, Italy. Truett was a three-sport athlete at WFS and lives in the Upper Infirmary apartment.

    Ted Watson serves as the director of academic development in the Smoot Center for Academic Development. 

    Originally from Baltimore, Ted holds a master’s degree in teaching, with a focus on STEM education, from Stevenson University. He also holds a certificate in learning differences and neurodiversity with a specialization in executive function and ADHD support from Landmark College, an institution designed for students who learn differently and the educators who support them.

    He is an experienced outdoor educator and the head coach of the mountain biking team.

    Grace Wessinger serves as the health education teacher and support counselor. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education and master’s degree in counseling education from Lynchburg College. Before coming to Woodberry, she served as the director of guidance services at Christchurch School for seven years. At Christchurch she served as a counselor, health educator, and director of the school’s advisory program. She lives with her husband, Will, and their two children in House E.

    Catherine Wharton is Woodberry’s assistant headmaster for external affairs, overseeing all development operations. She joined the faculty in 2007.  A graduate of Roanoke College, she has worked in development at the University of Virginia, Hollins University, and Garrison Forest School. Ms. Wharton and her children, Talfourd ’15, Wyant ’17, and Emma, live in Charlottesville.

    Gerry Wixted serves on the history faculty at Woodberry. Previously, he was teaching human geography and US history at Lawrence Academy, where he also coached soccer and varsity basketball. Gerry began his career as a Kenan-Lewis Fellow at WFS in 2015 and received a full-time appointment the following year; at WFS, he taught US History, an upper-class elective on the World Wars, and led the Woodberry-in-Oxford Program. Gerry holds a B.A. in history from Dickinson College and a M.Ed. from UVa. He also holds the William Stamps Farish Master in history, an honor which he was awarded in 2020. He serves as the dorm head of Hanes Hall and lives on Lower Hanes.

    Sydney Woodward joined Woodberry in 2022 after earning a degree in marketing from the College of William & Mary. She currently serves as the associate director of enrollment for outreach in the admission office. In this role, Sydney leads admission events and communications, manages the annual application process, and oversees outreach to prospective families.

    Charlie Wright teaches English and joined the faculty in 2020 as a Kenan-Lewis Fellow before taking up a full-time role in 2022. He earned a BA in English and history from the University of Alabama and an MEd from the University of Virginia. Charlie serves as dorm head of Turner Hall and is living on Upper Hanes during its renovation. He is the assistant coach for Bengal basketball and also teaches editing & design as a faculty sponsor of The Talon.

    Lisa Wright teaches music and directs Woodberry’s strings program. She is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music. Before coming to Woodberry in 2010, she spent many years performing and teaching in New York City and serving in college administration.  Ms. Wright is a founding member of The Bloom Trio and regularly performs with the Roanoke Symphony, Opera Roanoke, the Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival, the Wintergreen Summer Music Festival, and the Chamber Orchestra of Charlottesville. She lives in Harrisonburg.
