Woodberry Wins Invitational Cross Country Meet

For the second year in a row, victory in the Woodberry Forest Cross Country Invitational, held on September 16, 2017, went to the Woodberry Harriers. Woodberry has won the highly competitive event just three times in the race's forty-two year history. The invitational brings hundreds of runners from public and independent schools to campus to test themselves on the school's challenging course.

Riley Fletcher '19 led the way for Woodberry, completing the five-kilometer course with a time of 17:42 to finish in fifth place. William Rich '18, Parker Watt '19, Henry Clark '19, and Henry Singleton '19 rounded out the top five for the Tigers, who are the defending Prep League and Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association champions.

Saint Sebastian High School finished in second place in the team competition, followed by Saint John Paul the Great Catholic High School. Saint Catherine's won the varsity girls race.
