Virginia Takes the Title at Spring Barbecue Competition

Team Virginia won the judging and the entire Woodberry community chowed down on delicious barbecue from a range of teams last Sunday afternoon.

For the second year in a row, groups of seniors cooked brisket or pulled pork for the entire community. In a blind tasting judges declared Virginia the best pulled pork and top team overall, while Texas produced the best brisket. Other teams included Florida/Cuba, Eastern North Carolina, Georgia, and Korea/China.

Two student bands performed during dinner; long-time maintenance staff member Dean Hearl served as the opening musical act.
