Varsity Tennis loses to Mills Godwin

Pure and simple we lost to a better team at Mills Godwin on Saturday. There were 3 singles matches that could have gone  either way if we played well and we just didn't get the job done. Rob Galloway played a very close first set and unfortunately had to retire with a thumb injury he sustained while trying to scale the back fence on a key point. Rags and Billy both played well at times, but lost in close matches. John Clement fought hard but also finished second at number 4 singles. Henry Dyke struggled to find consistency and lost in straight sets at 5 singles. Lemmy D. came through with a solid straight set win at number 6 singles. In number 1 doubles Billy and Rags led 5-4 but could not finish the job. James Kyger and Lat Peak played well early but also ran out of steam to lose 8-5. Gray Ellington and Lem Doss had a 5-2 lead only to lose 9-7
