JV Squash loses to Mercersburg

On Saturday, the JV squash team made the long trek to Mercersburg and attempted to avenge their defeat two weeks earlier. But the Blue Storm proved to be too strong, sweeping the top five matches and winning, 6-3. Edward Stewart, Eddie Williams, and Richard Hunt won their matches for Woodberry, while Faulkner Hereford played very well at #1 in an agonizing five-game loss. In exhibition matches, Noah Stewart won twice, vanquishing two Mercersburg varsity players who had stayed behind form the Virginia juniors tournament, while David Sloan defeated the #8 JV player in a hard-fought five-game match. The team continues its season this Friday with a match at St. Anne’s – Belfield.
