Varsity Tennis - First Day Prep League Tournament
All three singles players won their matches in the quarterfinal round of the prep league tournament. Particularly exciting was Sam Funkhouser's return to action with a 6-2, 6-0 victory. Phillip Taylor won easily at number 2 and Tom Ellington won 6-0,6-3 at number 6. We were unable to finish the only doubles match we had because of a possible armed gunman on the University of Richmond campus. Both St. Catherines and St. Chris had to stop all sporting events while the police searched for a possible gunman. This means we will have to start earlier on Friday. I will let you know how this will impact when our players have to leave for the match. So far so good-- lots of key matches on Friday.
