Varsity Tennis crushes TES

The new boy triple threat  --- Billy Hereford, Phillip Taylor, and Rob Galloway-- set the early pace again with 10-1, 10-0, and 10-2 victories in singles. Billy played one of his most aggressive matches of the year and provided numerous photo opportunities for a certain Birmingham photographer armed with ear muffs to survive the blustery winds of April in Orange. Sam Funkhouser provided plenty of drama for court one as he trailed 7-6 before pulling out a 10-8 victory. At number two singles Daniel Holst continued his impressive prep league performance with a 10-4 victory at number 2 singles. Rob Fauntleroy came up a little short at number 6 singles to make the singles score Woodberry 5 Trinity 1. In doubles Daniel and Sam won 10-4 as they stay undefeated in the prep league. Rob Galloway and Phillip Taylor also played well in 10-3 victory. Timmy Perry and Billy Hereford combined for the first time at number 3 doubles for a hard fought 10-6 win. Timmy made some great volleys and overheads down the stretch while the Herf  did a great job on return of serve. We also had two victories in singles and doubles for H. K. Hallett  and Rags Coxe as they provided excellent depth in the 7th and 8th singles and 4th doubles.

           Team record  9-1

           Prep league record 3-0
