Varsity Golf wins first match of the season

In their first match of the season, the Varsity Golf team defeated the defending Prep League champs from Collegiate. On a windy and cold day at the Country Club of Virginia, the Tigers persevered and took advantage of their deep roster. Franklin Dolan and Thomas Walter shared medalist honors, each firing a 2-over-par 38. Jim Frazier, playing in the #3 spot, and Mills Gorrie, playing at #6, each shot solid rounds of 3-over 39. It was a tight match until the final group, when Thomas and Mills dominated the #5 and #6 players for Collegiate. Mills' dramatic birdie on the final hole sealed the victory for the Tigers. The team looks to build on this solid start as they head to Carlisle on Friday.
