The eighteen members of Woodberry Forest School's 2017-18 prefect board gathered in Florissant, Colorado, August 6-11, 2017, for leadership training, outdoor adventure, and group building. They tackled orienteering tasks, completed role-playing exercises, and participated in discussions preparing them to serve as dorm leaders, mentors, and guardians of the school's honor system.
Headmaster Byron Hulsey ’86, Assistant Headmaster and Dean of Students Joe Coleman ’79, and Assistant Dean of Students Ryan Alexander accompanied the student leaders on their retreat. A whitewater rafting trip concluded the week of learning and bonding.
On their final evening in Colorado, the prefects elected their executive committee: Maxwell Johns, senior prefect; Jake Edwards, deputy senior prefect; Andrew Jacobs, scribe.

Woodberry Forest School is an exceptional private school community for high school boys in grades nine through twelve. It is one of the top boarding schools in the United States and one of the only all-boys, all-boarding schools in the country.
