Message from the Headmaster

From Dr. Dennis Campbell:
I am sorry to let you know of the death of Randall B. Terry '53. Mr. Terry was a trustee of WFS, and a benefactor of the school. Last year the board voted to name our new dormitory Terry House to recognize the consistent service and support Mr. Terry has shown to the school over many years. Mr. Terry was president and publisher of The High Point Enterprise. He also was a part-owner of the International Home Furnishings Center. The funeral will be Friday, May 7 at 11:30 a.m. at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in High Point, North Carolina. Haynes Griffin '65, the chairman of the board of trustees, has decided that the May meeting of the board, which was scheduled to be held at Woodberry on this Friday and Saturday, will be held in High Point, North Carolina as a tribute to Mr. Terry. The Board of Trustees will be housed and will meet at the Radisson Hotel in downtown High Point. The schedule is as follows:

Friday, May 7, 2004
8:00 a.m. Investment Committee -- Radisson Hotel
11:30 a.m. Funeral Services, burial, reception
3:30 p.m. Committee meetings begin at the Radisson Hotel
7:00 p.m. Planning meeting for the whole board with dinner served

Saturday, May 8
8:30 a.m. Spring Meeting of the Board of Trustees
12:30 p.m. Adjournment
