The food services staff of Woodberry Forest School christened its new kitchen on August 12, 2015, by serving its first meal in the Terry Dining Hall to faculty and staff. The lunch of ham and cheese sandwiches, steak fries, grilled squash, carrots, and a salad bar selection capped off weeks of moving the thousands of cups, bowls, glasses, ladles, spoons, frying pans, and other equipment into the new Math, Computer Science, and Dining Building from the Reynolds Family Dining Room in the Walker Building.
Clyde Firman, Woodberry's food services director, says the kitchen staff plans to gradually ramp up its capacity in time to meet the needs of the early football, soccer, and cross-country athletes who will begin to arrive on August 22, 2015. "We're looking forward to rolling out some new recipes and options during the fall," he said. "Bon Apetit!"
