Valedictorian Wilson Kuhnel '12 took the podium on the porch of The Residence at Woodberry Forest School's 123rd graduation exercises on May 26, 2012, to say goodbye to his school on behalf of his classmates. Wilson spoke of fleeting encounters whose impact might only be realized years later, asserting, "We have prepared ourselves as Woodberry has intended, to reach out and grab that ephemeral wisp of chance when it comes along, and prepare for when it doesn't."
One hundred and three boys accepted diplomas at the cloudless Saturday morning ceremony attended by the entire student body, the faculty, and the friends and families of the graduates.
The morning also saw significant awards presented to members of the Class of 2012 and the community at large.
