Will Coleman '01 Makes Olympic Bid

Will Coleman ’01 is making an Olympic bid for the 2012 London Olympic Games in the equestrian discipline of eventing.

Throughout his education, both at Woodberry Forest School and the University of Virginia, he balanced a heavy competition schedule with academic success. Since graduation, he has gone from a superstar young rider into a professional on the cusp of making his first Olympic team.
Born and raised on Tivoli Farm in Gordonsville, Virginia, where he is based during most of the year, Will has been winning at his sport's top levels for more than a decade. He was the North American Young Rider Champion in 2001 and the Under-25 Champion in 2002 in England. Ten years later he is still the only American to ever achieve this feat. In 2004 he was the leading Young Rider in the country. With two horses qualified and prepared for the Olympic Game, Will is in the process of gaining selection to the US team.
