JV Lacrosse Defeats Norfolk Academy 8-3

Starting out slowly on Friday afternoon, Woodberry's JV Lacrosse squad played a tentative wait and see game offensively, taking a few shots and only barely testing a strong Norfolk goalie.  However, defensively we were able to make some cross-crease sliding adjustments early on in the first quarter and contain the Bulldogs to just one first half goal.  Sadly that left us facing a one goal deficit entering the half.

After some spirited discussion our Tigers returned to the field and started a scoring run that would see 4 goals in the first 5 minutes of the third quarter, mostly off of set plays initiated from midfield.  Four more goals for the tigers rounded out the day and left us comfortably ahead of Norfolk 8-3.
