End of Season Report

Although the record was 6 wins and 7 losses, the spirited and well-mannered play of each boy during the season was a delight. Finishishing third at the Virginia Juniors, co-captain William Lawson showed his consistent approach to the practices and to the matches: play as hard as you can. And that attitude also marked the play of co-captain Teddy Hull, who finished third against nationally ranked competition at the Salty Hawkins Tournament, each boy deserving of an MVP award. We have good and realistic expectations for the future.  What is particularly exciting for next year is the group of younger, talented players: Wilson Hallett, Rob Fauntleroy, Clint Trenkelbach,  Paul Callahan,  Roy Becker, and captain-elect George Guthrie. Hallett and Callahan had moved from the Bengal squad to the varsity, quite a jump. These boys and Michael Sharpe, James Mclean, Cooper Smith, Sebastian Hancock, Charlie Orr, Rob Belk, Collins MacDonald, Laurance George, Mills Gorrie, and Stephen Drew made the away trips interesting and the season enjoyable.
