JV Squash vs Potomac: Convincing 8-1 Win!

The JV squash team played Potomac at home on Tuesday, January 29, and once again came away with a convincing 8-1 win. Though Potomac’s squad was diminished by illness to two key players, the matches were nevertheless hard-fought. Phillip Taylor led the way with a 3-2 victory at #1, exacting some revenge against the same opponent who had beaten him in five games just nine days before. Rob Galloway, Stephen Sims, Chase Spong, and Win Jordan each won in straight games, 3-0. Peter Henderson showed terrific maturity in the #7 slot: after losing the opening game in a tiebreaker, he mentally regrouped and won 27 of the next 35 points for a 3-1 victory. Peter Heck and Ned Hardison also had wins in four games to seal Woodberry’s most convincing win over Potomac in the short history of the new courts.

The Tigers’ record is now 7-0. Their next match will be a challenging road test at Mercersburg on February 9.
