Wrestlers Begin Private School Competition

On Saturday Woodberry began it's private school competition against Paul VI, Episcopal, Norfolk Academy, and St. Chris.  The Tigers began the day with a decisive win over Paul VI 58-12.  Pins came from Duke Pickett, Will Csorba, Bobby burg, Will Sutherland, Jonny Fitzsimons while Chris Cirenza and Ford Schwing had close wins.  Wilson Maclin added a Major Decision over his opponent.  In the second match Woodberry squared off against rival Episcopal High School and come out on top 52-18.  The Tigers had several big wins including James Peebles pinning a ranked Episcopal Wrestler.  Next, the Tigers defeated Norfolk Academy 67-9 where Michael Adams earned his first Varsity win with a pin in 3:00.  Finally, the Tigers lost a close match to St.  Chris 31-37.  Bobby Burg had a decisive 8-2 victory over the #1 ranked 130 ponder in the private state.  On the day Bobby Burg, Chris Cirenza, and T. Moore Evins were 4-0.  The Tigers wrestle at Douglas Freeman this Friday.
