JV Squash Defeats Potomac

The JV squash team defeated Potomac School in a gritty 6-3 victory on Friday. The early matches did not bode well as only Peter Henderson was able to win one of the first four matches onto the courts. Win Jordan came close, with an agonizing loss in a fifth-game tiebreaker. But strength at the top earned the squad its first win on Potomac’s courts in at least five years. The Tigers swept the first five spots with wins by Daniel Oh (in five games), Stephen Sims, and Pete Heck. Philip Taylor finished the day in his first interscholastic match ever, winning a tough five-game match at the #1 spot. Exhibition matches also went Woodberry’s way as John Buholz, Christian Dolan, Trigg Farris and Stephen Kowalkowski picked up wins. The team heads into Christmas break with a 2-0 record.
