Varsity Soccer Wins Again

Potomac School 4-1

The Tigers enjoyed one of those days where a close contest turns in the favor of the team that denies their opponents the chances they have, and makes the most of the chances it creates. Will Kenworthy (2 goals), Cooper Smith and Tom Ellington were surgical in scoring their chances on the one end, and Hunter Otterson, Walton Milam, Doug Gabbert, and Murphy Holderness were decisive in turning away Potomac’s efforts at the other. The game featured effective and attractive passing, as Charlie Orr and Dennis Schier made the right decision time and time again. Will’s second goal, coming at the stroke of halftime to make the score 3-1 in the Tigers’ favor, gave the team the confidence it needed to weather the surge from Potomac at the start of the second half, and keep the Panther’s vulnerable to the counter-attacking goal.
