Woodberry Alumni Share Career Lessons, Advice with Students

Woodberry Forest alumni from around the country returned to campus Tuesday to discuss their careers and share lessons from Woodberry, college and their careers that have served them well.

After a keynote session led by John Robinson ’94 and John Petrone ’06, members of the fifth form and sixth form attended a series smaller breakout sessions to learn about different industries.
 
Career Day, which coincided with Tiger Day, also included special opportunities for other students to meet with the alumni, including a late-evening gathering in The Fir Tree for ice cream sundaes.

The alumni returning to campus were:
Andy Han ’13, a consultant with CGI.
Landon Biggs ’09, a network architect for IBM.
Jack James ’08, a lieutenant in the United States Navy.
Ben Matthews ’06, an investment banking associate for Jefferies LLC.
John Petrone ’06, president of SouthWood Corp. and a former United States Marine Corps officer.
Brad Cook’05, engineering lead for Building Connected, a technology startup.
Beau Thomas ’05, a principal at The Audax Group, a private equity firm.
Chip Farrar ’04, a MBA student at Columbia Business School.
Sam Slater ’03, an attorney with Wyrick Robbins Yates & Ponton LLP.
Ed Testerman ’02, a research analyst with King Street Capital Markets.
McNair Evans ’97, the owner of McNair Evans Photography.
Will Knight ’97, a physician at Martha Jefferson Hospital.
John Robinson ’94, the founder of Mandarin Communication Group.
