Woodberry Students Start Middle School Book Club
Six Woodberry Forest students have started a new book club with seventh and eighth graders from nearby Grymes Memorial School.
Sixth formers Blythe Brewster, Rhew Diegl, Hughes Edwards, Reed Taws, and Freddie Woltz, along with fifth former Spence Whitman, served as discussion facilitators for small groups of Grymes students. The Woodberry group hosted twenty-six Grymes students for lunch and the book discussion on Monday, January 13. The students had all read Jason Reynolds' new collection of short stories, Look Both Ways. Woodberry librarian Phoebe Warmack, who helped organize the new book group, noted that Reynolds was recently named the national ambassador for young people's literature by the Library of Congress.
The book club will meet again next month for another lunch and discussion.
