Woodberry Campus Bustling with Summer Construction

Though campus is always quieter when students are away, this summer the ongoing work in the Walker Building has meant that part of campus is full of activity.

The Admission and College Counseling teams moved into their new offices in the former A Dorm space earlier this month. The headmaster, dean of students, and dean of faculty will also have temporary offices in that area this year while the east wing of the building is renovated.

Work is nearly complete on half of the Community Street level. Boys will be able to enjoy a new kitchen and part of a new game room this year, with the rest of the game room opening in summer 2020. The Fir Tree is also receiving a major overhaul and will reopen in mid-October. But don't worry; boys will be able to enjoy a temporary Fir Tree for the first few weeks of school until the traditional space is ready.

As you may have seen last week, Woodberry recently received an extraordinary $5 million gift from David Hayworth '47. In September, shortly after work is complete on the Walker Building lobby, the school will name the lobby in Mr. Hayworth's honor.

You can track the entire Walker Building renovation online. There are also several social media accounts @WFSWalker where you can see photos and regular updates. Those accounts can be accessed from the Walker Building webpage.
