Stuart Egeli ’87

Commander, United States Navy
Navy Commander Stuart Egeli doesn’t do things the easy way. Growing up near the Chesapeake Bay in southern Maryland, he built his own speedboat by hand, even crafting nails for the boat himself. As a Woodberry student, he was promised a future job on Wall Street by a bank president, but Stuart imagined a desk job just wouldn’t be adventurous enough. And, after graduating from Woodberry, he reported for basic recruit training at Parris Island, South Carolina, even though his admission to the Naval Academy Prep School made it unnecessary — “I didn’t want to miss out on that experience,” Stuart explains.
