Standardized testing helps Woodberry's admissions office better understand the academic preparation of prospective students. Because we receive applications from across the United States and around the world, these tests help us get a better gauge of your readiness to handle Woodberry's academic work. We also closely consider your grades in school, as well as the letters of recomendation submitted by your teachers. 

Applicants for grades 9 and 10 must take the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) during the current school year. Registration for the SSAT can be done online by visiting the SSAT website, You may schedule your test for any of the SSAT testing centers. Please register for the upper level test. Woodberry’s SSAT test code number is 8272. Please use this number so that your test information will be reported directly to the Woodberry Forest Admissions Office. SAT and PSAT scores will be accepted for grade 11 candidates only. Please visit the SSAT website for information regarding registration deadlines and fees. 

Applicants for whom English is not their primary language must submit a current score for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Please use Woodberry’s TOEFL code, 8220, for reporting TOEFL test scores directly to the Woodberry Forest Admissions office. These applicants must also follow the guidelines regarding SSAT testing.
