Alum Helps with Harvard's Art Museum Redesign

Richard Aeck ’97 worked in Italy for architect Renzo Piano on the design of the newly renovated art museums at Harvard University. He helped with the sloped facades of the “Light Machine,” a stunning feature of the project that dramatically daylights the museum’s new technical labs and its 1926 travertine courtyard and places ongoing conservation work on display for every museum visitor via glass partitions. “After generating over 400 3D iterations of the Light Machine, countless physical models, and 2D drawings," Richard said, "I can only say that working on a temple to art was as much fun (+blood, sweat, and tears) as one can be a party to!”
