Weekend Sports Recap

Many Games Canceled
As a result of thunderstorms, many of this past weekend's games were canceled. But several key varsity contests, including the varsity baseball, golf, track, and lacrosse games were played.

Down 7-1 at one point in Saturday's home game against St. Chris, varsity baseball fought back to tie the game at 8 by the bottom of the sixth inning. At that point the Tigers exploded for 10 runs and ended the game by the 10-run rule. The win may prove to critical in the Tigers' attempt to overtake St. Chris to win the Director's Cup.

Varsity golf beat two Richmond league opponents, Collegiate and St. Chris, back to back this weekend. The Tigers beat Collegiate in 9 holes 143-144 on Friday and followed that up with an 18 hole victory over St. Chris, 284-316. Against the Cougars, Dean Norman and Jim Kluttz led the team with 35 each, while Will Strickler and E Stinson carded match low scores of 69 against St. Chris.

The track team traveled to Collegiate Saturday for the Prep League Meet. Fork Union finished first, St. Chris second, and Woodberry third. The following are the results:

FUMA 180
