  • STEP ONE Request Information

    Fill out a short information request form. You will receive a viewbook and information about Woodberry Forest School in your mailbox, as well as additional videos and digital information about the school.

  • STEP TWO Schedule a Campus Visit

    Overnight visits are offered Thursday, Friday, and Sunday evenings.

  • STEP THREE Start Your Application

    Fill our the online application or complete the SAO.

    Remember to schedule a campus visit and interview.

    TESTING 
    Complete the required standardized test by registering at ssat.org. Applicants for grades 9 and 10 must take the SSAT. Applicants for grade 11 may submit PSAT scores. International applicants whose primary language is not English must submit a TOEFL test score.

    RECOMMENDATIONS AND TRANSCRIPTS
    Submit recommendations from your English teacher, math teacher, and school counselor or head of school.

    Submit transcripts from the two previous school years and the first marking period of your current school year. 
     
    Applying for tuition assistance is a separate application process. The tuition assistance page and brochure has all the information, instructions, and deadlines.

    What happens after I complete my application?
    You will be able to check the status of your application and whether we have received your  supplemental materials in your electronic account. 

    You will be notified of an admissions decision on March 10. Applications submitted after the first-round deadline of January 15 will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning in April.

    If you are accepted to Woodberry Forest, we ask that you let us know if you intend to enroll by April 10.
Applying to boarding school is easier than you might think! When applying to a private school like Woodberry, you'll be asked to tell us a bit about yourself and your interests. We'll also want to hear from some of your teachers and will ask you to take a standardized test so we can understand some of your academic strengths.
