Amici gifts go directly to Woodberry’s operating budget, where they help us attract the most talented faculty, maintain the finest facilities, and provide the most opportunity to all students, especially those who need financial support. This year more than ever, the Amici Fund promises to make a big difference to life at Woodberry Forest.

Our goal is to raise $100,000 through the end of business day. Click on the Tiger Coin to give, or call 888.937.7546.

Happy Tiger Day!

Paul and I write to share with you why we support Woodberry.  We contribute to Woodberry for a number of reasons.  First, we are very grateful to Woodberry for the opportunities it is offering our son, Nicholas, a current fourth former.  He loves his school, the friends he has found there, the teachers and coaches who challenge and support him, and the physical attributes and beauty of the place.  We are so very grateful that he has found a place where he feels that he belongs.  We know that he will carry Woodberry and its values with him throughout his life.

We also give to Woodberry out of a sense of responsibility.  Woodberry is giving so much to our boy - more than the tuition covers - and we want to help to make up this difference between tuition and the actual cost of a WFS education.  Schools like Woodberry are not sustainable if the people who know the institution best don't support them.  Parent and alumni participation in the Amici Fund is an indicator to Foundations and other potential outside funding sources that the school is supported by its constituents.  The higher the participation, the more attractive the investment for these sources.  So we give in the hope that others will too.

Finally, by supporting Woodberry, we hope that we model good stewardship so that Nicholas will see the importance in contributing to his school and take up this responsibility in the future as an alumnus.

Please join us in supporting the Amici Fund this year!

See you at The Game!  GO TIGERS!
